Fairbanks is on the flyway for migratory waterfowl both spring and fall. There are an amazing number and variety of birds that transit through. Many disperse out after leaving Fairbanks to the rivers, ponds, and lakes of the state. Others continue on to the coastal plains further north and west. Wherever they go, their time in Fairbanks is heralded by those of us who observe them. In this album are my best photographs of cranes, swans and several species of goose that I’ve taken the last several years.
