The diversity of wildflowers in Alaska is simply amazing, in part because of the wide variety of habitats that are present. Forests, bogs, tundra, alpine, river, pond; each has it’s own specialized plants. The challenge with photographing flowers is to make them stand out. They don’t run away and so really anyone with a camera who can find them can photograph them. It really comes down to framing and composition. It’s something I’ve worked on the last several years and am continuing to try to improve.
