Invertebrates – Insects, spiders, mollusks

During the winter my favorite thing to photograph is snow and ice. In the summer it’s insects. Insects while small are absolutely incredible. The variety and specialty put mammals to shame. And because they are so small, they are often overlooked. My goal with my insect photography is to try and put you at their level, to see them as how they see each other, and to see he beauty and incredible diversity of this group of animals. With the exception of a few images taken on vacations, the vast majority of these were photographed in the interior of Alaska.
