I love photographing the amazing flora that Alaska has to offer. One of my favorite things to photograph are our incredible wildflowers but I also try and capture some of the other plants as well. We have several species of orchid that live in Alaska as well as incredible alpine flowers that I’ve found while on hikes in the mountains. I also have access to several great gardens, the UAF botanical garden, and the Fairbanks Community Gardens where I’ve photographed a lot of garden flowers. Other galleries here include one for grasses, one for berries, one for plants going to seed, one for nonflowering plants, and one for trees. And if you look carefully you might find some insects. One of my favorite things is when I take a photo of a plant (primarily flowers) and find when I open it on my computer that I also captured a very tiny insect.
